Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026 · Applies to the TELE40 apps for Android, iOS and Android TV, and to the website tele40.com

TELE40 ("TELE40", "we", "us") is a media player that lets you watch free live TV channels streamed from YouTube, listen to internet radio and podcasts, and play your own subscriptions and playlists (Xtream, M3U). This policy explains, plainly, what the app keeps on your device, what it must send over the internet to work, how advertising works in the mobile apps, and the choices you have.

In short: TELE40 has no accounts and no sign-in, and we do not build a profile of you. Your preferences, favourites, history and the sources you add stay on your device. The Android and iOS phone/tablet apps show banner ads served by Google AdMob; where the law requires it we ask for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings. The Android TV app and the website currently show no ads.

1. Who is responsible

TELE40 is operated by Tibrcode (the developer of the app), who is the data controller for any processing described here that is carried out by us. Contact: tibrcode@gmail.com. Google (advertising, YouTube), Cloudflare and Vercel (hosting and relays) act as independent providers under their own policies, linked below.

2. Data kept on your device

Everything the app remembers about you is stored locally on your device (browser storage in the web version, app storage in the native apps) and is never uploaded to TELE40 servers:

Deleting the app, or clearing its data from your device or browser settings, removes all of it.

3. What leaves your device to make the app work

Like every internet player, TELE40 has to connect to servers to fetch lists, guides, logos and the streams themselves. Every such connection inherently reveals to the receiving server your IP address, the address requested and basic device/browser information (the "user agent"). We do not add any identifier of our own to these requests. Who receives what:

RecipientWhy the app connects
tele40.com (hosted on Vercel) and our Cloudflare Worker relayLoading the app and its curated channel, radio and podcast lists; checking for updates; the "now playing" title of radio streams; relaying playlists, streams and logos that cannot be fetched directly by a browser; relaying YouTube searches (the search text is sent, nothing about you). Requests are processed transiently; the providers keep short-lived technical server logs for security and operation. We do not use them to identify or profile users.
YouTube / GoogleLive TV channels play in YouTube's embedded player, which loads directly from YouTube under the Google Privacy Policy; YouTube may set its own cookies and identifiers in the player.
Radio stations, podcast hosts, guide publishersStreams and podcast episodes play directly from their publishers' servers; station lists come from the public radio-browser.info directory, podcast catalogues from Apple's public iTunes Search API and the shows' own RSS feeds, and programme guides from public XMLTV publishers. Each applies its own policy.
Your own providersIf you add an Xtream account or an M3U playlist, the app talks to that provider (sometimes through our relay when the provider blocks direct browser access). What that provider does with your connection is governed by your agreement with them.
Google FontsThe interface font is loaded from Google's servers.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

TELE40 is free and is funded by advertising. The Android and iOS apps for phones and tablets show a banner ad at the bottom of the screen, served by Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). The Android TV app and the website currently show no ads; the space reserved for them stays empty.

To select, show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's SDK may collect and process on Google's behalf:

Details: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's advertising technologies.

Consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent message the first time it starts and requests personalised ads only if you agree; otherwise ads are non-personalised. In those regions you can review or withdraw your consent at any time under Settings → Ad privacy choices in the app. Where a US state privacy law applies, the same message lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; TELE40 itself never sells personal information.

iOS tracking prompt. On iPhone and iPad, iOS asks once whether TELE40 may track you across apps. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the advertising identifier is not used and ads are shown non-personalised. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Device-level controls. Android: Settings → Google → Ads (delete or reset the advertising ID, opt out of ad personalisation). iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising and Tracking. Google account: Ads Settings.

Content of the ads. Ads are limited to Google's "Teen" content rating or below. For users who chose the under-18 mode (section 7) ads are limited to "General", and requests are flagged so that Google treats them as coming from a user under the age of consent, with no personalised advertising.

5. Website analytics

The website version at tele40.com uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly measurement that counts page views and general device categories without cookies and without any identifier that could follow you across sites. The native apps do not include it. TELE40 uses no other analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDK.

6. Voice search and permissions

Microphone. Used only while you hold or tap the microphone button to search by voice. What you say is turned into text by the speech recognition service of your device or browser (Google on Android, Apple on iOS, your browser vendor on the web) under their policies; TELE40 receives only the resulting text and never records or stores audio. You may deny the permission and keep using every other feature.

Other permissions. Internet access (required); on Android a media-playback foreground service so radio and podcasts keep playing with the screen off, and picture-in-picture for video. The app does not request your location, contacts, photos, files or calendar.

7. Children and the under-18 mode

TELE40 is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children under 13. At first start you are asked whether you are 18 or older. Choosing "I am under 18" switches the app to a restricted mode that hides mature sections and, in the mobile apps, limits ads as described in section 4. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws) you have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Because TELE40 keeps your data on your device rather than on our servers, most of these rights are exercised directly:

We do not sell personal information and we do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

9. Security and retention

All connections to our servers use HTTPS with HSTS and a Content Security Policy. Credentials you add are encrypted at rest on your device. We hold no user database: technical server logs at our hosting and relay providers are kept for a short period for security and reliability and are then deleted or aggregated. Data held by Google for advertising is retained under Google's own retention rules.

10. International transfers

Google, Cloudflare and Vercel operate globally and may process the technical data described above in the United States and other countries. They do so under recognised transfer mechanisms such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in their respective policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app's practices change (for example if ads are introduced on another platform) and change the "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
